Please help me!!! I need a baby sling & I'm clueless

I am in need of a baby sling. I have a seven sling just to test out the waters of using a sling and I ABSOLUTELY HATE IT! I think I may of ordered it too big and it cuts at the side of my neck. Then I was thinking maybe I wasn't doing it right but it's not that difficult... or is it? I'm short so I'm thinking the size isn't right for me, which happens ALOT with almost everything

So my question is... what should I get? I don't like the look of the backpack looking slings. I think I'd more so like a wrap style or one that has an adjustable ring? Please help me decide and maybe steer me in the direction of where to buy? (Maybe some of you have some on here?)

Did you try the baby wearing forum on DS?
http://www.diaperswappers.com/forum/...splay.php?f=66

Sorry, I know nothing about slings.... all I have is an Ergo.

Re: Please help me!!! I need a baby sling & I'm clueless

Not sure if you already posted another thread, but I'll answer here.

Seven Slings are very cheaply made, of not so comfy fabric. They're probably OK in a pinch, like for a diaper bag carrier for quick trips into the store or something. You can't get a quality sling for free

Since your LO isn't so small any more, I would suggest either a woven wrap or a good quality ring sling.

I really love Girasol woven wraps. They aren't quite as expensive as some others are new, and they are pretty easy to find. You can often find them used on DS, as well as http://thebabywearer.com They are a very good beginner wrap. Just find a colourway that you love, and get it in a size 6 if you are an average sized mama.

For a ring sling, I would not go for anything padded. My favourite is from Lil' Peeper Keepers linen ring sling. Hers are quite affordable, and very high quality. Another favourite of many people is Sleeping Baby Productions. She has a ton of different fabric options, and her slings are all pretty much custom made. There are some very affordable options, and others that are really pricey.

I personally really prefer to have a woven wrap, because it distributes the weight so much better. A one shoulder carrier, such as the pouch you have, or a ring sling, will only be comfy for so long before it starts being too heavy for your shoulder.

I have a balboa baby sling if you're interested, it's brown and in perfect condition.

So this is the one I'm looking into: http://www.etsy.com/listing/97920284...p-carrier-airy

Does this look like a good, promising one?

I would think so. I've always wanted to buy one of her gauze wraps! Great for summer.

Also check for tutorials on how to use a ring sling for maximum comfort and safety - there is definitely a sweet spot with them. Youtube and thebabywearer have loads of watchable resources. Good luck!
