Personally if you are new to slings the ring sling like sleeping baby productions or my fav and easiest is now out of business because of all the cpsc standards she did not want to deal with kangaroo kroner pouch sling. They are fleece and really easy and comfy for fall/winter even into spring. I love my ring sling for longer treks because you get a better level of support. There are TONS on fsot here you should try that to save yourself $ until you know what you like. Even better check on the babywearer for a baby wearing group near you & they have slings to show you how to wear and lending library of wraps to try out before buying that's how I found my sleeping baby productions one. Happy hunting!

Re: Please help me!!! I need a baby sling & I'm clueless

I adore my Hava sling (it is a ring style sling) The couple that own the company also have b&m store and website called nurturedfamily.com. Came with a dvd that made it super easy to figure out. I liked that it had light padding but isn't super bulky, has a pocket in the tail which is nice too. I think they have a discount on their website too if you sign up for a newsletter maybe and I am pretty sure they cost enough to earn free shipping. Always get tons of compliments when I wear it and have mamas stopping me to ask what kind it is and where I got it. Definitely worth the investment IMO.

<3 my moby wrap! I can't stand anything else its so comfortable and completely adjustable to you and baby! Takes a while to figure out how to wrap it, but after that you're good to go!

I wouldn't recommend a gauze wrap or a stretchy wrap for carrying a 10m old. A woven wrap or a soft sided carrier (SSC) is really what would be most comfortable for you. A ring sling is "ok", but not my choice for trips longer than 15min.

You might like a wrap converted mei tai. Not sure if I spelled that right. Check out pax baby.com.
