EP - how many oz/day?

How many oz/day should you shoot for if you ep? I think I read baby generally eats 1oz/hour so that means 24. Does that apply for a 7 month old too?

Re: EP - how many oz/day?

When I exclusively pumped I averaged about 30 - 34 oz a day, but by 7 months I was only pumping part time so I'm not sure. While pumping my LO consumed anywhere from 25-30 oz of breast milk a day. HTH

I have read that a 5 to 6 month old is eating about 15% more than a 1 month-old. So, not as much as one might think! Maybe closer to 30 ounces, then?

A breasfed baby takes in the same amount at any age (besides the initial tiny newborn stage.) So, an 8 week old would need the same amount as a 10 month old. The composition of breastmilk changes, not the volume. The average is 27oz a day.

BF babies eat 1 to 1.5 oz per hour regardless of age. But what you produce can vary widely. With DS1 I was lucky to get 15-20oz a day, and that was pushing it. With DS2 I'm getting at least 48oz per day.

I PT pump and I pump 25-30oz per day. All of what I pump goes in the freezer and I end up donating 3/4 of it monthly b/c DD doesn't eat from a bottle much.

Yes.

I like 2.5 ounce bottles ever 2-2.5 hours. That way if LO doesn't eat it all- not much lost and I've never had my own child it a daycare child need more. They are comforted after if they cry for more 'sucking' and it's always been about comfort not more food
