Is this chicken pox??

Attachment 121713

I noticed this rash on my 16 month old just before I put her to bed. Does this look like chicken pox? Or something else? She's been acting fine. They don't seem to be bothering her. The only thing that seems to be bothering her are her teeth. She has a few teeth coming through and is drooling like crazy.

Could be. You'll know by morning, because the spots progress to blisters then crusting, as new spots develop. Hope it isn't serious, whatever it is.

Possibly

That's how my kids CP started: a few spots on the belly that didn't bother them at all. The next day they started itching and more spots appeared. Then they started crusting over. Take a look again tomorrow and you'll likely know for sure.

I can't see them well in the pic. Usually cp start with a few then more and more. They are small clear fluid filled blisters. Are they clear little blisters?

No they are just red bumps. Only slightly raised.

Keep an eye on them - it's hard to tell in the beginning stages of the rash, but the spots will progress to blisters that will burst. If it does, it's chicken pox - but again, you wouldn't know for sure until they started to blister.
FWIW, while there are blisters the child is contagious (and before then, too, but you wouldn't know for sure). Once the blisters all burst and crust over, the contagious period is over and the child can safely return to group activities (most ask that contagious children aren't present).

It could also just be a teething rash - that obviously wouldn't blister or anything.
