Fleece inserts for newborn over prefolds?

I'm new to cd, due in 6 weeks....I've got 24 prefolds and prowraps to start (and a few other odds and ends).

Should I cut some fleece fabric into inserts? To keep my newborn feeling dry...does it help with diaper rash? Comfort? or is it unnecessary?

If so, what size should I cut them into?

What about nighttime with a newborn? What's the easiest solution?

Re: Fleece inserts for newborn over prefolds?

Fleece liners are great. I just cut them in rectangles that fit inside most newborn diapers. It would be nice to have on hand just in case. My DD hated being wet and needed them but my DS2 ,who also hates being wet, they don't make a difference so you never know. Neither had rash issues with or without.

Honestly I have never needed a night diaper for my newborns since they are waking and pooping basically on the same schedule as daytime. My almost 5 week old still gets changed at every feeding during the night. I don't think we needed night diapers until around 8-10 weeks with my other kids at which point they all were out of newborn sizes.
