Knit soakers -- your opinions?

I just finished a knit soaker for our upcoming baby (used the EviePants pattern), and MAN, I felt like I spent more time weaving in ends than actual knitting. Granted I was using up some scraps, but my goodness, it seemed to take a lot of work (and a lot of flat knitting).

Are knit soakers so super fantastic that I should make some more? I was thinking they would look cute under dresses for spring and summer, when baby will be 3-6 months old. I'm thinking once she moves into the medium sizes, I can go with recycled or interlock, which I know DH would prefer (i.e. something that he won't kill in the wash)

We only had one this time and I really liked it. Wish I had maybe 1 more. I would totally do them under dresses for a girl. I would make another one and leave it at that though.

Yes. They really are all that. Especially at nighttime. I found that putting Marie in wool made the difference between her sleeping long stretches or not.

Well, I have the Aristocrats (machine knit) soakers for nights, which I love. But I was thinking some hand knit soakers for daytime...
