Making your own baby food?

I'm sure it's already been asked, but does anyone have any good sites for making your own baby food?

I don't know any off the top of my head (my baby is only 3 months old), but I have seen some on Pinterest. If I find them again I'll post them, but you might try searching there! Hope that helps!

You're welcome! I have a few friends who've done it, so I'll ask them and see if they have any sites they can recommend, too!

Re: Making your own baby food?

I did most just fruits & added like apple juice 100% & that's it for all but meats( I wasn't sure how to do those).

I know we passed around a site in a baby group of mine but I think I lost it. I will see if anyone has it still and report back to you. I had already done the baby food stuff for me so I might have accidentally deleted it. I think it was a organic site or something.

you could look up baby food sites online too I think.

Re: Making your own baby food?

wholesomebabyfood.com
It is great for "breaking" down the stages of introducing foods. It shows you how to make your own brown rice / oatmeal / barley cereals and has tips on steaming and pureeing all types of foods for baby! I referenced this site with my first child and it helped immensely. You can literally steam almost any fruit/vegie and puree it using a little of the steaming water or breastmilk to thin it to the right consistentsy. You do not need to add juice or anything else. I have a 4 1/2 month old and just steamed, pureed, and froze 7 trays of fruits and vegies for her introduction in a few months. I wanted her first foods to be fresh from the season and organic (since when she is ready it will likely be winter time). Making your own baby food is super easy with the right tools and I personally wouldn't do it any other way. Feel free to pm me if you need any help!

wholesomebabyfood.com is great. I've found some wonderful recipes at smittenkitchen.com/baby, although there aren't that many. another site is: homemade-baby-food-recipes.com... I've made a few things from this site--and have many others planned! My son really likes the cherry-banana-oat "cookies".

This is great! I was wondering the same thing. Are there any books that people recommend, or are the websites just as good?
