Re: Lunch Box

The $ bins at target often have character magnets that are just little flat rectangles. I have some star wars ones I put on DS's planetbox from time to time. They don't fit nicely the way the planetbox ones do, but he still likes them.

Re: Lunch Box

Hands down, Planetbox! Absolutely love it. DS still does not finish his lunch, but eats a ton more food at school because he opens one thing, and all his food is laid out in front of him. No individual containers, except for days when we send something in one of the dippers (it just takes up a spot inside the Planetbox). And much easier to put lunch together and make sure it is balanced. I open the box, fill up the compartments, close it, and done!

DS saw it in a catalog and begged for one, so I agreed to buy it if he would sleep in his own bed for 2 weeks. Best bribe EVER! We both came out winners.

So I really wanted a planetbox for DS but it was just TOO spendy so I got him a go green bento. It was the closest thing I could find and it fit all of my criteria.

Re: Lunch Box

DD has a planetbox too and I absolutely love it. It was a bit pricey but honestly, I think it is worth it in the long run. It was dirty today, and i was running late, so I had to send a Goodbyn that I found at the kids' resale shop for $3. As I was packing it, I kept wishing I had just taken the time to wash the planetbox. We'll see what DD says when she comes home.

Re: Lunch Box

If I were to buy a planetbox, it better last my kid their entire school career for that kind of money. Wow. I understand that it's quality, but geez....don't ever, ever lose it. Though if I think about it, if I spend $10 every year on a lunch box it would pay for itself in 6 years. So I guess there's that.

Sorry, I'm adding nothing to this conversation. My kid uses a cheap-O Target special that's not quite big enough for the ziploc container with compartments and a Thermos Funtainer. I hate it.

I was honestly spending way more than $10 a year on lunch supplies. I would either use ziplock bags, reusable bags or ziplock or other containers and all of the small containers were constantly getting lost or broken. My ds2 has used his planetbox for going on 2 years now and it is in great condition. I was afraid of him losing it as well but it hasn't happened yet. He told me it was easier to keep track of without all of the different containers.

I figure by the time he's done with elementary he can pass it down to DD if it survives. Lol.
