6 months!

DD2 turned 6 months today, and we're still going. Even teething and some latch problems havn't stopped us! She had some bottles of formula in the beginning when she went on a nursing strike when my milk wasn't coming in, and she's had a few teaspoons of solids here and there over the past couple of weeks, but every roll on her cute little body came from my milk! I really didn't think after the problems with DD1 that I could nurse long term, but obviously I can. I even hit a dark spot this last week - DD2 cut her first tooth and changed her latch. I had a deep crack in my left nipple from it and she kept twisting and pulling and fussing on the breast, but I held my ground and it's mostly healed now. She has a little fit when I unlatch her when she's misbehaving on the breast, but when I relatch her she behaves. It sometimes takes a few times to get my point across, but eventually she stops.

My next goal is to nurse until I have to go back to work. We get a year off, but I went off a month early due to a move and some complications, so my goal is to get to 11 months. If our nursing relationship survives me going to work, great. If not, we will have had a great year and she'll be old enough then to wean to milk rather than formula
