Replacing elastic--how hard is it?
I have 2 AI2s that just didn't hold up well. The elastic looks to be encased. They are less than a year old, so I'm not ready to trash them. Is there someone that is good but cheap that I should send them too or is it easy enough? I guess the only concern I really have is sewing it back up :-/ . It's just one side, but is it easier to replace both so they match? What makes elastic go dead?

Re: Replacing elastic--how hard is it?
I learned watching this video. It was really simple, no issues and I cannot really sew much. I would say I'm a beginner.
replacing elastic Now this video is for working on a fitted, I don't know how it would differ if using something with pul, like an aio or ai2, but I would not imagine it's any different really. Elastic just wears out from regular wash & wear, but I think heat from the hot water and dryer can cause it to go too.

Re: Replacing elastic--how hard is it?
some elastic lasts longer than others. I don't know why but it does so what you start with comes into play but heat and age seem to be the biggest culprit from my experience. I have several diapers fomr 8 yrs ago that were fine when packed and now the elastic is dried up, so I am going to watch that video too. Thanks!

Re: Replacing elastic--how hard is it?
I'm looking at replacing elastic on a few dipes. Would you use the same method for pockets as you do w/ fitteds? Will this mess up the pul? Thanks!

If you bought them new and they're under a year I'd think they'd still be under warranty?
I've replaced elastics only in BG's but it's easy though a bit tedious ![]() Sent via iPhone using DS Forum (yes, I'm that addicted)
