laundry question

For how long do I presoak the diapers in cold water?

If there are no poopy diapers iin the stack or they the poopy ones have been soaking seperately, do I still need to do the presoak? (We usually put the poopy ones directly in the downstairs utility sink in a small bucket)

Thanks!

Re: laundry question

I presoak for at least 30 minutes. I presoak not only to disolve the poop but also to rinse out the pee from the diapers. At a minimum, I would do a cold rinse if there were not poopy diapers or the poopy ones had already been soaked.

Re: laundry question

I don't think I've ever done a presoak in the 3 1/2 years I've been cding. I just do a cold rinse first, open the washer and take a sniff. If it smells pretty bad I rinse again and then wash. I'm lazy though!

I mostly soak my dipes in cold water overnight and then start the machine in the morning.

If I don't respond, it's because we're 6 hrs ahead of EST and I might be sleeping already
