Question for non vaxers

I selectively vaxed ds until 12 months when I decided we were done. I am not vaxing dd.

My question is for those who do not vax at all. Do you think there is ever a valid reason to vax? For example, if you go to a foreign country where there are recommended vaccines before you travel, would you get them?

Yup. If we left the country or had family members in health care we would selectivly vaccinate.

It would depend on the country but typically I would not vax. I took my then 5 month old to Southern Mexico with no vaxs. Now maybe certain parts of Africa or other famished countries that are more prone to disease but not the UK or Spain, etc... I would research before deciding.
For me that would be the only reason unless a family member developed a horrible immune issue(but that's unlikely)

For sure there are valid reasons to vax, just like there are valid reasons not to vax Since ds1 has a history of vaccine related complications then it would really depend on what country we were going to and what diseases they have (I mean, all countries are going to have diseases, but having the disease present in a country doesn't mean it's in a large enough population where we'd be at risk). There are a lot of factors that I would base my decision on and it would not be made lightly.

this

We also would probably selectively vax if I could find a doc who would just have a normal conversation about it with me. I am not ANTI-vax, we just don't vax *right now*.

Re: Question for non vaxers

The only way we would vax is if there was a bad outbreak near us. And by outbreak, I don't mean 3 mild cases. It'd have to be pretty extreme.

If we were to travel to another country (we do not plan on it, ever...aside from maybe Canada) then I would see what was needed and go from there.

If there was a horrific outbreak of something truly deadly we'd weigh our options there also...but only that specific disease not a combo shot. If half my town came down with Chicken Pox I would not vaccinate for that ever. I had it when I was 12 and lived to tell the tale LOL
