Re: AG for a toddler?
If you want a cheaper option for a toddler, but one that holds up check out the circo dolls from target! Seriously my DD got one for her second Christmas (18 mos old) and she has loved that baby quite hard and the doll still looks good! The cloths are pretty ragged, but I've replaced those. The dolls only cost $20 and like i said, while the baby doesn't look pristine, its still in great shape! This is the doll we got my DD http://www.target.com/p/circo-stroll...rm=baby%20doll the cloths she is wearing are different, but its the same doll. The stroller died very quickly because my DD kept sitting/climbing in it herself, lol.

Re: AG for a toddler?
If you are looking at is as an investment then no I wouldn't. If you are looking at it as a quality doll that she can play with for the next few years until she outgrows it then yes I would. I would start with a bitty baby or bitty twins at that age with no problem. If you just want an AG like doll but are worried about how she will treat it then I would look at the Our Generation dolls from Target.
