I was ready to do it all over again by the time my first was a few hours old. My second? Not so much :teehee:

I'm SO with you!We are done. I have hard pregnancies, and need csections. Never doing that again.

Except I hope one day to convince DH to join me in the journey of foster parenting... and... I might get a chance for more newborn squishyness.

and that's saying something, because I really don't enjoy the newborn stage. I am LOVING the toddler stage
This is me, exactly.
I wanted another baby RIGHT NOW until DD was about 3 months. I have not had the desire for another one since then, lol. I found the entire first year to be very very hard, and now that she is a toddler I'm having so much fun that I don't want another one to distract me from her

Re: What is it about newborns..

I have faint feelings like wanting another one, but...

I am a WORRIER,
For one, dd2 had "colic" and all I have to do is remember those times where I felt so utterly helpless. I could not relieve her pain no matter what I did and it was horrible.

The newborn stage is so frought with worry,
Are they latching properly?
Umbilical cord, dry skin
SIDS, sleeping, breathing!
Reflux
Too hot? To cold?
Enough tummy time?
Reaching milestones?
To many contraptions, flat head?
Gaining enough weight?
Food allergies? Should I be eating blank?
Quite you'll wake the baby!

You get where I'm going lol
Toddlers are much more fun...problem is you have to have a newborn to have a toddler haha

Re: What is it about newborns..

DS1 was colicy. DH swore he'd never have another after that experience. I was terrified of DS2 before he was born... but he was a complete joy as a newborn!! I couldn't believe it. We thought we were done, but he made us want another one!!! Well, now we are sensible again and know we have to be done. I try to remind myself that there's no gaurentee a third would be so wonderful.. 3rd could have colic again like the first. Lol. DS2 has just been so easy, so wonderful, so rich in bringing us joy. I also remind myself that those babies grow up to be toddlers!!! Ha...that's a good deterrent!

Yes!

I feel ya mama, I've had baby fever pretty much since they put DS on my chest. I loved pregnancy, birth ,newborn, so far all of it! (although I do miss when DS would stay where I put him , he's making a newborn look really easy). I want to be pregnant like yesterday.

Thats (one of many reasons) why fostering is so awesome! None of the pain and all of the awesomeness of babies! Newborns are even more fun when you aren't recovering from pregnancy, labor and birth! Plus they never get old. how often have you heard people say they wish their kiddos would stay babies forever? Well there you go!

Yep, mine will be 2 weeks on Friday and I feel like I could have a baby every week! If only they stayed sleepy, squishy lil babies. I just want to cuddle his soft skin and silky hair forever.

ETA: Birthing my ODS was what made me want to go back to school to be a nurse. I'd love to work in L&D around squishys all day. I just haven't got around to it yet.
