My dh became super excited when he realized how historically accurate they are he's a history major! We are going to track down a Kirsten doll and then we will start buying the other historical dolls so she has the set

Oh man! I wish my kids liked those dolls. I LOVED them when I was younger. I still have my Samantha and Addy doll. I was hoping to get them fixed up and give them to my kids. My 12 yo never was interested. I would order the catalog and have her look through it and she never cared. Haha I'm thinking of getting the catalog for my 4 yo and see what happens. I think they are sooo worth it, but I do strongly prefer the historical dolls.

Re: are American Girl dolls worth the price?

LOVE all of the pictures, darn you ladies!

The only thing dd has asked for is a walking doll...so not happening - we are pretty minimalist so she doesn't have many toys/I don't want many. She has had the twin little mommy dolls since she was 1 and has taken them everywhere for 3.5 years.

I am 'upgrading' them to the bitty twins! and am SO excited. She is only 4, I hope she loves them so I can get her a real American Girl when she will appreciate it. She played 'American Girls' when visiting her cousins a few months ago and thought that it was the coolest thing ever, I never checked it out to see what kind they were using.

DD got her first (Kanani) when she was 20 months, and we have been very impressed with the durability. It really depends on the kid, though: her friend has a bitty baby that is covered with marker and crayon stains!

Thrift stores have tons of doll clothes. The only new, AG clothing we purchased was a matching shirt set for DD and her doll to commemorate a trip to AG Place.
I really need more info about this sale! How do you find out about it? And do they have it at all their retail locations or only at a specific warehouse?

Re: are American Girl dolls worth the price?

I would go for it.

I always wanted one but my parents didn't have the money. Now my mom collects them and seriously has at least fifty along with tons of accessories- makes me so mad.

My mom bought my DD a Bitty Baby for Christmas last year (she was 2) and she loves it. This Christmas she is getting her a "big girl"one and I may just have to steal it. I drool over al of the cute stuff when the catalog comes in the mail.
