Give me some ideas of inexpensive and home sewn/made gifts for...
5 kids. Ages 5-13. Each year I make my cousins littles gifts for Christmas. They lived with me for a while until she got her life on track after a rough patch so we are very close to them. They are like my second set of kids. Problem is...now that she got her life on track, married a guy who joined the army, we live 4,000 miles apart as he is stationed in Alaska. Each year I make them something. Last year, I made the girls pink camo scarfs and the boys camo hats and made them some hankies.
Down the line we have almost 13yo girl, almost 11yo boy, 9yo boy, 7 yo boy and just turned 5yo girl. I need thrifty gift idea's. I'm thinking of getting the 13 yo some nice makeup and nail polish, the 5yo I might do something kind of like this too (they both love girlish things but are also tomboys). I'm at a loss for the boys though. I'd like to get them each a small gift and make them each something. They love it when I make something special just for them. I don't have a huge budget for this but I do want to get them each a small gift and make them something meaningful. Any suggestions?

Do you sew? You could sew the boys pjs based on their interests. The 5 y/o might like some crafting or art supplies that you can get at Target in the clearance section or a dollar store.

What about colored pencil/crayon rolls? Colored pencil ones for the older kids and crayons for the younger ones. http://thepleatedpoppy.com/2010/05/c...roll-tutorial/

Re: Give me some ideas of inexpensive and home sewn/made gifts for...
Homemade gifts that my children and nieces and nephews have enjoyed include flannel lounge pants, dresses, tie-dyed shirts, and knitted bags. I haven't done as much for my nephews as for my nieces because the boys all like Legos and there are always a good selection for pretty cheap. The boys did really like the lounge pants and the tie-dyed shirts, though.
If they have anything that requires them carrying small things, such as going to church and carrying a Bible, you might consider making them bags. These would be easy to personalize, as well. |

How about fingerless gloves out of sweater sleeves? Here's where I got the idea.
