Re: Waldorf Doll Sew Along

This awesome! I practiced on things I just had and I think I am ready for the kit. You only need to buy the needles and the pattern separate from the kits right?

The class is set at my daughter's school! It'll be the first two weekends of November. Can't wait to get the materials list! I'll share it when I get it.

Re: Waldorf Doll Sew Along

Got shipping notice on my needles and kit! I'm so excited. I'll be spinning up the batts for her hair as soon as I'm done with this custom

Does anyone know if the organic doll skin not in the kit from weir has the screenprint pattern on it?
I think only if you buy a "preprinted" body

Re: Waldorf Doll Sew Along

Ok A few more Pictures to Share.

Here's my 12" traditional doll:

I'll try to take more pictures on the next traditional
Here's her little face.

And Here's my jointed doll traced and sewn. I trace my pattern and sew it before I cut them out. It is easier this way. I like to use a stretchy zig zag stretch but I can maneuver for the legs and arms so straight stitched those.

And just as extras here my first joint doll with a new velour outfit and blankie.

Re: Waldorf Doll Sew Along

So awesome!!!! They are all beautiful and you're fast!!

The list I got from the gal hosting the waldorf class locally was just the basics in a kit from wier (actually it IS from wier, she pointed me to them for ordering supplies). So I ordered enough for 2 dolls. I did the presewn body parts though since we'll be short on time before I have my new little one

Anyone have a quick resource for handspun goodies for doll hair? I got a skein of the mohair boucle but wanted the second doll to be a bit more 'fancy' lol

I haven't touched mine again. I think I am going to start stuffing the second body while I watch TV tonight.
