Re: PROVERA?

I haven't used Provera, but I have used Prometrium to induce AF quite a bit. I've had a few cycles where it took up to 2 weeks after finishing the progesterone for AF to arrive and 2 cycles where it just didn't work. In those cases, I waited 2 weeks, then took another 10 days of progesterone; both times it worked the second time at the same dose.

Thanks It is so frustrating. I am only on day 7 after stopping so another week I shall wait. I had to take it to get AF before conceiving my 2nd son and I started the day after I stopped so I think that just spoiled me and got my hopes up a little. I tried to prepare myself for AF not to show but I guess it just didnt sink in you know?

*Is Prometrium another form of medroxyprogesterone? Like just a different brand?*

As far as I know, prometrium is identical to the progesterone that we naturally produce. It's synthesized in peanut oil though, so it's out if you have peanut allergies. It's pres ribed for similar things as provera, though.

Re: PROVERA?

Yes. I was put on estrogen for 10 days, then back on prometrium. I started a few days later after ending the progesterone.

Re: PROVERA?

Does anyone feel that one is better than the other? Is the natural better than the synthetic?
