Gift ideas for an almost 2.5 year old

Trying to decide what to "ask " for for my DS for Xmas. I am not big on gifts so we do small things, books, clothes. But the grandparents are a different story. They insist on getting him a few "toys" but they are good about taking suggestions. I don't want a lot of loud big plastic toys in my house but I want things he will like. He is an active little guy if that helps. What has been your toddlers favorite toys??

Hands down: her indoor trampoline and her balance bike.

Beyond that, I suggest blocks, musical instruments (there are tons of wooden ones on the market although xylophones seem to be better tuned as metal).

A rody horse maybe - ds loves his. Ours is actually a cheap one from toys r us. Tools, duplo legos, kitchen stuff (my ds loves to play cook 1000 times more than my girls did). Maybe some cars and one of those rugs with roads on it to drive the cars on.

A balance bike is a great gift for boy or girl. They are generally pretty expensive too so that might be a nice grandparent gift My DD LOVES hers, zooms all over the house. I bet he could figure it out easier than a trike actually, there are no pedals.

Also we have a Melissa and Doug metal grocery cart that's lots of fun, and art supplies.

Balance bike is easier than a trike.

It's a good gift for that age. Train table, wooden kitchen, play silks..

A plasmacar.

Or a Fisher Price Doodler (the magnetic drawing board thing).

Mine daughter likes the ride on toy with wheels like a rocking horse (if on wheels.) Likes blocks like big legos. Scout.
