If you have the kind that dissolve, how long does it take?

I'm 2wk pp today. I'm ready to resume "regular activities" if you know what I mean. (DTD) Of course, my bleeding has picked up in the last few days since I have no daytime help anymore. So, it probably won't happen just yet anyway. But, I still want to know. If my bleeding slows way back down again, can I go for it even though I had a 2nd degree tear with stitches? The shortest we waited in the past was 4wks. I don't want to wait 2 more weeks. (And I'm sure he doesn't either. But, he has put no pressure on me at all and when I've hinted that I'm ready has even said we should probably wait longer to make sure I'm healed. LOL)

Re: stitches

My midwife said don't until the bleeding stops since you are risking a possible uterine infection. My stitches always seemed to have gone away by then, somewhere between 5-7 weeks.

Re: stitches

I've had a 2nd degree tear both times. First time, I had a check up at 3w PP, and my OB told me another 3 weeks, even if bleeding stopped earlier. My sutures were dissolvable. I don't know if there's a reason you couldn't enjoy each other without penetration, though, kwim?

Re: stitches

My MW said somewhere around 2 weeks is usually when they have dissolved, but with my older DD they didn't totally dissolve until around 4 weeks. She also said DTD is fine once your bleeding has stopped and you feel ready. Good for you for getting back into it already...I'm almost 2 weeks pp and am so NOT there yet, lol
