Super soaker question

My 2 week old is a super soaker!! She was 9 lbs 1 oz at birth and is now over that. Sooo, she is out of her newborn diapers for sure, especially because of absorbency but she even soaks through a BG OS pocket with the big insert in it in like 1.5 hours!!
Any suggestions on what I can stuff in her diapers for more absorbency?? Would flower sack towels be better? Bamboo??
Ideas!?? TIA

Maybe a hemp insert added in?

Hemp by itself? Or with a microfiber insert too?

I would try hemp by itself. Just out of curiosity, were your diapers new or are you using old mf?

not the OP, but my 1 month old also soaks the BG insert. No leaks yet because I change him frequently, but in a normal 2 hour period it is soaked. The infant one is ridiculous, maybe 30 minutes?

Re: Super soaker question

I would do both microfiber and hemp (mf to soak up quickly and the hemp will hold the bulk of the liquid). I agree that Thirsties hemp inserts are awesome!

Are all your inserts mf? Could they be compression wicking since newbies are usually laying down, etc? I don't use mf at all because it just doesn't hold for my super soakers unless I wrap it in bamboo or a prefold

Re: Super soaker question

Hmm. They only leak when over full. They are older, used on my almost 3 yo for 2.5 yrs. never had an issue when he wore them. When I use sposies with her I still have to change in like less than 2 hrs cause she is a pee'r! Lol. I am going to look into the thirsty hemp inserts. Thanks so much.

I have to wonder if they aren't just worn out. It's my understanding that they lose absorbency over time. Regardless, I'm not a mf fan so I wouldn't buy more mf personally. But PFs or flats might work just as well for much less money than the hemp. I often wonder if anyone can use the nb inserts...we never could.
