Mei rai? Moby?
So, I got the baby Bjorn as a gift when my son was born, but soon after I read that it's not good for the baby's legs or something like that, bottom line it was not good.
So I started researching other carriers, I understand that the RGO is the best one out there but it's way too expensive for me. I was thinking of getting the Moby but I think that's better for newborns, my baby is 9 weeks and already 12.4 pounds. Then a friend said she uses the Mei Tai by babyhawk and is very happy with it, but again, it's too expensive. I saw some mei tais on ebay for less but I am a little scared to buy them ... Any suggestions on where I can find an affordable good carrier? About me: I am a very thin girl and I am afraid I may have a hard time carrying my baby around in a carrier when he gets bigger, maybe a sling would make more sense for me? ... anybody else has this problem? Thanks. |

You can look for some on the FSOT boards for a more affordablr carrier. I am sure there are more knowledgable people on here but I am a fan of SSC like the boba or ergo. They are expensive but they will last a lot longer than the cheaper ones. I can use them with my 4 year old and you could never do that with a bjorn.
I saved up and waited for a sale before I bought mine.

There's a infantino mei tai for $35. I got mine from babies r us with a 20% off coupon. I much prefer my ring sling and Boba/ergos, but for an ergonomically correct and adjustable carrier, the price can't be beat!

I wouldn't get the infantino. You can get a much more reputable one for that price used on here, thebabywearer or Craigslist. Ergos also can go for cheap, even knew, but I would argue that they are not the "best ssc out there" by any means.

Oh and in a mei tai, woven wrap or ssc, you won't have any trouble carrying him even he gets bigger. I see little 10-12 yr old girls wearing their siblings all the time in carriers.
