Re: Herbal tea for DS?
Hibiscus is another good one...a lot of moms I know use it instead of cool aid. it is bright pink and fruity flavored...add a little stevia to sweeten it. You can do it hot or cold.

Re: Herbal tea for DS?
My sisters and I grew up drinking rooibos - I hated milk and it's the only way my parents could get me to drink any. We had it in our bottles.
I've started DD on rooibos too, also because she pounces on my coffee mug shouting "MINE!". Rooibos (pronounced roy-boss, sort of) is Afrikaans for "Red Bush" and it's sometimes sold as redbush tea.

Re: Herbal tea for DS?
Yeah, I know everybody has already confirmed this but Chamomile is definitely safe. Our ped actually told us to give it to DS when he was a baby for colic and cited some research studies saying it helps.

Re: Herbal tea for DS?
I've heard chamomile can help with constipation too... not sure if that's true or not.

Re: Herbal tea for DS?
I share infusions with my toddler, in various combinations of: alfalfa, nettles, oat straw, lemon balm and other mint family, ginger, chamomile, rose hips, raspberry leaf, rooibos. I think they are good for both of us.

Our pedi suggested giving tea to DS. He said tea is under used.
DS gets ginger, chamomile and loves them!My phone thinks it smarter than me. Please pardon any mistakes. |

Re: Herbal tea for DS?
We don't mind giving our kids some chai tea...which means black tea with milk. Kids in southeast Asia drink it all the time and the warmth in it during winter is great for colds. I also think a small amount of caffeine helps my dd calm down (don't know how or why. But it definatly does) usually I make chai tea and add some French vanilla creamer or hazelnut creamer. Mmm even I love it.

Re: Herbal tea for DS?
All the German families we know (they were originally from Russia) give their babies diluted Rooibos tea to drink. It's perfectly safe
