Kinderpack (toddler)

Hi! I have been looking into kinderpack and have a question for you guys. Do kinder backs support babies legs better than a beco butterfly II? We have an awesome wcmt that has a wider base but its not "daddy friendly." Trying to decide if a kinderpack would be a better option for us now.

Re: Kinderpack (toddler)

KPs are awesome and definitely have a wide seat. My toddler one still fits my almost 36 in tall 2.5 year old with great leg support --- it's not quite knee to knee anymore but it's very close. You can see the fit here:

How old is your baby? KPs fit generously. The standard size will fit many kiddos up to 2 years old. The toddler size one is recommended for 25 lb and up. We switched from standard to toddler size at 22 Months and still have plant of room in a toddler size at 30 months.

Re: Kinderpack (toddler)

I agree with the previous poster! I think kp's might be the widest seat available in an ssc. My 3 1/2 year old still rides in our toddler!

Re: Kinderpack (toddler)

If the KinderPack is only good up to 25lbs, does anyone have any suggestions for someone with a 2 year old that is 30lbs?

Most KPs are actually rated to 50 lb. Sorry if my post was confusing, the recommended weight *minimum* for a toddler size KP is 25 lb (I thought you were specifically asking about toddler size KPs based on the post title; now I realize you we're asking about KPs in general for a toddler in which case there are other KP sizes to consider

KPs come in four body sizes (infant, standard, toddler, preschool), here are he rec ages and weights from the KP site. I've also listed the seat width.

Infant - NB to 18 months, birth to 30 lbs, seat 9"-15" wide (adjustable)
Standard - 8 months to 3 years, 18 lb - 50 lb, seat 17" wide
Toddler - 18 months to 4 years, 25 lb - 50 lb, 32" and up, seat 19" wide
Preschool - 3-5 years, 35 lb - 50 lb, 38" and up, seat 20" wide

For comparison, an Ergo seat is only 14" wide and a Boba is 14.5" wide

DS in my pic is 2.5 and 27 lb and has plenty of room to grow in the toddler size KP (so this is the third biggest size out of the four, I doubt we'll ever need preschool size). HTH

Re: Kinderpack (toddler)

She's 28.2 (yes we just got weighed today) She's only 15 months but tall for her age. I was thinking a toddler/standard. You ladies might have convinced me? I love how supported the LO looks in the pic posted

Re: Kinderpack (toddler)

Kinderpacks are amazing!!! I would get a toddler sized for her. My DH carries our little man everywhere in our kinderpacks!

Re: Kinderpack (toddler)

I've decided to "get" one. When I can find a print that I like, I've been looking for a while and it seems like they're hard to come by. Everyone must love them!
