I read a biography type book about a dad who put his mouth over the babies noses and sucked the snot out. Course it was about a very long time ago.

I've been wanting one of those snot suckers.

We used the garment extenders and the Itzbeen. A huge fan of both

After that, I really like my temporal thermometer. And my Swaddle blankets with Velcro.

Oh!! And I loved my Snuza halo sleep monitor.

If you dont want to spend the $ on the itzbeen we have the baby connect app for our phones and DH and I are able to keep track of everything. Best $5 I've even spent on an app.

I couldn't live without gripe water!

Did I mention I these? And sorry if everybody else already knows about them, but I just found them a year or so ago.
What on earth are they?! Like pipe cleaners? I'm intrigued!

Mold-able wax covered yarn. They stick together but not to you or the table. They are AMAZING! The kids build all kinds of things with them. DD uses them to practice her spelling words by shaping them into letters.

I bought wikki stix for my students to use for just that purpose (plus practicing sight words), but they didn't like it! They just wanted to write their words. My daughters love them though.

The most used baby item we have is a Bamberoo Wrap Conversion (mei tai).

Re: Best inventions EVER for babies/children

Just so you all know, the nosefrida is not a "new" thing....similar items have been used for years for suctioning trachs before suction machines were portable. I promise, it's not gross...the snot does not go in your mouth. You do what you have to for your kid anyway. I'm sure if your child hasn't had a particularly bad illness, or otherwise has medical problems that affects their ability to handle their secretions, you wouldn't see a reason to use them, but talking about how "gross" it is, is kinda of offensive to those of us whose children basically drown in snot every day of their lives.

My mom once threw my nephew on the kitchen table, pulled a pen apart, used it to suck the snot out of his nose and mouth because he was turning blue. And yes the snot went in her mouth. That's a bada$$ grandma for you. A little tube and canister that keeps your mouth clean is no big deal. I do hope you don't look at people like me and how I have to care for my DD and think we are "gross".
