How do you make tortillas?

Today I'm 145.6. What!? I ate everything!

So I guess the good part of having a cruddy weigh in last Friday is it actually looks like I lost weight this week even though I was down to 136.8 yesterday. I'm waffling between 136 and 138 these days. Hoping I can break through that before Christmas celebrations start.
You'll break through! I wavered at 170/169 for a long time too, you just have to use it as more motivation to work even harder. And chug water! I've found that the amount of water I drink is the biggest factor for me in how well I eat, how much I eat, how much energy I have to work out, as well as how much water weight I hang on to.

Here is the recipe. I found it on allrecipies.com

Tortilla recipe

Ingrediants:
2 cups flour (of your choice)
1/2tsp of salt
1/4 cup veg shortning or oil
1 tsp baking powder
1/2cup or more of water or milk (I found that milk makes them so much better then water)

Directions:
1) shift flour salt and baking powder into a large bowl

2) into dry ingredients cut in shortening or mix in oil. (using your fingers works best)

3) add liquid slowly mix until a sticky ball forms

4) wrap ball on plastic and set for 30 min

5) divide dough into 8-10 ball for small tortillas or 6-8 for larger ones cover again with a damp cloth

6) lightly dust counter with flour and roll out into a circle or oval unti 1/4 in thick. DO NOT ROLL DOUGH MORE THAN ONCE

7) heat a dry griddle over high heat for 5 min. Cook tortillas 30 sec each side or until it looks dry and slightly wrinkled & a few brown spots form on both sides do not over cook or they will be hard. (I have used both a cast-iron and non stick pans)

8) serve warm. You can place the done ones in a 200* oven under a damp towel go stay warm while cooking the rest. (I keep mine on a plate on the stove they cook real quick. I roll them all out then i cook them all).

Enjoy!

I'm not great at it and mine are in no way round they come out more rectangle or oval and sometimes circleish. But they taste is so much better then the store bought ones and my family prefers them.

Cool. I think I'll give it a try one day.

So far this morning ive eaten nothing but leftovers. I haven't eaten desserts, and only ate a little last night, but its still not super healthy. I need to do better but its so easy when theirs so much food in my frig.
Apparently the no carb thing has gone out the window.

good job guys! we all survived thanksgiving I resisted the rolls yesterday, but ate 2 today plus Thai while shopping! My goal for the week is to stay under 155.

Regarding our jeans discussion- I found this great blog! I loved it - and thought it was really helpful! I tried on a bunch of jeans today and saw a huge difference, before I just said "no jeans look right on me!!" The second one is an update for plus sizes-- love! love! love! this girl

Re: The 25lb Challenge November thread

I weighed in after 2 days of lots of food and am up to 147 again. No biggy. A good poop and I am sure most of it will go away. I am going to eat better now that we have eaten up some of the left overs. At least my gains no longer put me in the 150s. SO there is something positive!
