When did you ditch the stroller?

My kids are 4.5yo and almost 3yo, and we have a double stroller that I'm thinking about getting rid of. We haven't used it in months, older DD can barely even fit in it really...plus we could really use the money from selling it. I keep hesitating because I think that the second I sell it, I will need it for something (Murphy's Law, right?) So, when did YOU get rid of your stroller?

Re: When did you ditch the stroller?

With my oldest, we got rid of it at age 2.5 and had no regrets. We haven't gotten there with the babies, yet.

Re: When did you ditch the stroller?

My oldest is almost 6 and still rides occasionally in our sit and stand and in our Mountain Buggy. Long days out at places like Disney and the zoo mean that she often rides.

We walk in our neighborhood after dark a lot, and there are no sidewalks. She rides in the Mountain Buggy in her jammies for this. She can't keep up with the 3+ miles that DH and I like to walk.

We stopped using our stroller entirely when DS was 4.5. We don't miss it. We went to Disneyland this summer and he did 12 hours days on foot and was fine.

Re: When did you ditch the stroller?

We don't use the stroller past age 2 unless it's a super long trip, and even then we're usually done by the time they turn 4. I am saving ours though for future littles.

Re: When did you ditch the stroller?

For regular outings (shopping, etc): before age 2.
For day trips (zoo, DLR, etc): around 4 (but still use a hitchhiker at 5)
For extended multi-day visits to WDW: No idea

We still have our dbl stroller, but it only gets used 1x per year for abt 10 days (our trip to WDW or our multi-day, multi-themepark/zoo trip to San Diego). DS rides in our single stroller (BJCM) for day trips and DD rides on the hitchhiker. We haven't used a stroller for regular outings since DS turned 2. We do use the single jogging stroller for either kid when DH or I go for a run and one of the kids wants to go with us, so we still use 3 strollers. We do need to get rid of our single Mac (Quest Sport); it hasn't been used in over a year.

Re: When did you ditch the stroller?

We've essentially given up the stroller (17 months). She always wants to walk anyway, and we plop her in the beco when she's tired, or when I'm in a hurry.

Re: When did you ditch the stroller?

We didn't get one til DD1 was almost 2, and we never used it with her. We didn't use it with DD2 until after she was 2, and we only used it around the block because she wanted to go for a ride in it. We have never taken it with us on an outing...it's always in our garage. We still have it, though I have no idea why. We either baby wear or the girls walk.

Re: When did you ditch the stroller?

I didn't use it much after 3 for odd and 2 for ds. By 4 dd was able to do long hikes and ds was doing hikes by 3. They didn't even use it for all day events at that point. I mainly used a stroller while pregnant or at all day things like the state fair where we are spending the whole day walking and there are big crowds. My youngest doesn't really like to walk long distances but I mostly baby wear her now on hikes. I can see using a stroller occasionally with her at 3 like I did at my oldest.

Re: When did you ditch the stroller?

We ditched it completely between 2.5-3. And we've always lived in big cities, so we walk EVERYWHERE.
