i did placenta encapsulation with my DD, and had wonderful success with it. i contacted my encapsulationist a few days ago, and she is available to do it again for me, i am so happy.

i was wondering if anyone else is interested in doing this or is planning on doing it??

I have considered it, may I ask what roughly is the cost? and how you went about finding someone who does it.

I am accually in the march ddc, but i am planning on getting mine encapsulated.

mommix6- I went to http://placentabenefits.info/ to look for someone. I have it narrowed down to the ladies I like. Around here(Austin, texas) the cost seems to be right around $200 to get it done.

i live in canada, but it was between $150 and $200 (it depended on if i wanted pick up and delivery, or if i was going to being doing the drop off and pick up) i think it ended up being $250, when my mom dropped it off for me she decided to add the placenta prints to the order as a surprise, which was super sweet of her, and adorable/interesting.

and as for finding someone, i just did a google search in my areas for placenta encapsulation, and found my girl. we talked a lot through e-mails and i became super comfortable with her. she was also really helpful with answering all of my questions (which i thought was really nice and reasuring) and even offered some responses to telling the hospital i wanted to keep my placenta if they gave me any grief, they didn't thankfully. i was actually contimplating doing it myself, you can buy kits online, but then i thought that would be too much work for a new mom.

Thanks for the link! I checked it out and sadly the closest one to us is in Pittsburgh, which is a few hours away I will do some more digging when I get a chance.

I'm not sure if I'm doing mine, I was supposed to have mine done last time but my Doula took my placenta and I never saw it again =(

That sounds horrible. How could you do that to someone? Also what did she do with it???

Supposedly she had it encapsulated, just never actually got it to me (not without my effort of trying to get them from her!). I had a TOTAL doula FAIL last time around, she even agreed to refund half my money, and didn't even fully follow through on that. We were friends before she was my doula, friendship down the drain.
