Weird. Maybe it's not meant to be a sad tear though? Did he have watery eyes, or have something wrong with his eye? Maybe there is an event coming up that would make him misty eyed in good way, like an anniversary or birthday, even the holidays? Maybe he is just saying he isbproud of you.

In either casein find your relationship with him beautiful.

Thanks ladies! The flower on his jacket is an actual dried flower from his garden. Its a pretty special piece to me, obviously.

Geckmum, I should take it apart and investigate. There is some painted shadow but the "teardrop" does appear to extend slightly upwards from the corner of his eye, too. I will dismantle it tomorrow and let you know if I figure it out...

Good luck and keep us in the know. Is it perhaps an anniversary that isn't on your radar? His wife's birthday? Anniversary? Births of their children? Other deaths close to him?

Very creepy...reminds me of the dolls that grow hair and the old painting that blinked his eye during a TV show.
