faucet mounted water filters??

Are there any good, not too spendy faucet mounted water filters available?? Would like a reverse osmosis one. Will that remove flouride?

I believe a reverse osmosis system would but they are really expensive and not mounted to a faucet. I am not sure if the basic carbon filters (Brita, etc) will remove fluoride.

Re: faucet mounted water filters??

Reverse Osmosis will, but it uses a lot of water (several gallons) to produce one gallon of filtered water. None of the faucet ones (that I know of) will take flouride out. We have a Berkey filter, and added on the flouride filters to is a little expensive @ first, but once you make the initial purchase, the filters last a long time.

Faucet mounted filters such as brita and pur will not remove fluoride. We have a RO and they are worth every penny IMO! They do waste some water, you can have that " waste" water diverted for a grey water system or for plants. We currently don't do this, but you could.
