18" dolls and accessories?

DD bought a Madame Alexander doll with her birthday money. Now for Christmas she would like some accessories to go with her doll (bed, clothes, etc)...I found a few MA pieces at our Wal-Mart but a lot of places have other 'brands' of 18" dolls...are they all basically the same though? I could get her a Wal-Mart or TRU bed and it'd fit her doll okay? 18" is 18" no matter what name is stamped on the butt right?

Mostly asking for family I have some family members that shop mostly at TRU or Kohls so if they get a different brand there I wanna make sure it will work okay with her doll...

Clothes might not all fit, as some dolls are thinner than others. Loose dresses, nightgowns, etc have never been a problem for us. Shoes might be different. But, we've had good luck with skates, beds, wheelchair, etc.

Most 18 inch doll stuff fits any 18 inch doll. Take a look at the dolls they are selling to go with the accessories... Are they the same/similar size? Kohls sells Dollie and me clothing. My DD loves getting matching PJs or whatever for Christmas. I've seen them at Sears as well.

Thanks! She's mostly wanting the house style accessories now so I'm assuming they'll fit okay? I'm not sure how thick her's is. Hmmm...

I'll probably just tell my step-mom, she's really good about including a gift receipt lol
