a nice newborn baby doll???

I'm looking for a simple, nice, baby doll for my 3yo daughter.

I just want a simple newborn, one that doesn't talk or is animated in any way. It doesn't need to be incredibly lifelike (I think they are a little creepy) but I don't want it to look cartoonish either. Just a nice baby doll. Preferably one that can fit in a real babies newborn clothes so that I can make some use of all the newborn clothes I have in storage.

All the babies that are in the toy stores are either animated or have that cheap fleece on them somewhere.

Are the American Girl newborn dolls worth the money? Would they fit in real newborn clothes?

AG Bitty Babies fit the bill. They are worth the $50 IMO. They fit in regular premie clothes pretty well.

Bitty baby is a great doll. But the little mommy dolls by fisher price (I think) are great dolls too. In fact the little mommy newborns were favorites of all 3 of my kids - beating out our bitty baby doll hands down. We've had a couple of those dolls for a good 7 years and they all still look new.

We also have a corelle baby and she has given the little mommy dolls a run for their money. We've had her about 4 yrs and she's held up beautifully as well.

The bitty babies are nice, the little mommy are also. There is another doll can't recall the name, something middleton or something like that which I really adore.

We don't actually have one, but I've been interested in Baby GoGo. It's a nice looking doll, and I also like that it wears a simple gender-neutral outfit so that it can be a girl or boy baby.
