Re: Anyone have a "single type" stash?
I have never had a mixed stash either. I started with pf and covers bc I needed a cheap system to make sure I would like cd. Then, when he sized out of those, I did a whole stash of fb. Then, he was allergic to pul (after like a year and a half) and I went with a full stash of fitteds and wool. Funny, I was 100% with each and every stash.
So, I now believe that keeping it simple and having a stash that matches your needs and budget is the way to go. We have a little one on the way and I am building a full stash of fb os - plan to use those exclusively (unless we have an allergy or something). I do have a full stash of pf/covers in case I can't afford to build a full stash of fb before the baby is born. I just had a baby shower yesterday and was gifted 10 fb os - yay! - so I think that with those generous gifts and black friday coming along - we may be able to afford the full stash of fb and will be able to sell off the pf/covers stash. |

Re: Anyone have a "single type" stash?
we had a stash of almost all pockets as well at one point, but my daugther outgrew the absorbency in them for night time and we had to get some fitteds and covers to make it through the night. I fell in love with that system for a number of reasons and we have been in 100% fitteds and covers for the last year and a half.

Re: Anyone have a "single type" stash?
i have two single sytems. All pockets for DH/Daycare and I use fitteds w/PUL covers at home.
If I hadn't gotten a great deal on some OS fitteds, like 30 of them off my local craiglist, i would have gone strickly with pockets for DD. I really like them. i have no problems stuffing them. She doesnt' fit into the fitteds yet so we will see if I really like them later on or if I will sell off and go with all pockets.

Re: Anyone have a "single type" stash?
At the moment every pocket comes with a MF insert. Don't think I'm going to use them much though. I'm thinking hemp and bamboo.
I'm so glad I'm not wasting my time building an exclusively pocket stash! |

Re: Anyone have a "single type" stash?
With DS (my first) I used one type of stash at a time; selling it all and restashing when needs changed.
With DD1 I had a very varied stash and really didn't like it. She was hard to diaper though (skin issues, reflux, too skinny/bad fit, hated being wet) which is why I tried so many things with her. With DD2 I'd really like to get back to one thing. I hate having so many things to sort with the laundry. I might actually be able to do it; she seems to be comfortable in anything and she is chunky enough that everything fits her well.

My 19 month old has a stash of all pockets (even though I do not care for pockets, but that is a while other story) and my 8 month old has a stash of all prefolds. If it works for your baby, it is definitely do-able.

Re: Anyone have a "single type" stash?
My stash is 90% pockets, I have a few thirsties aio but once they are outgrown it'll just be pockets.

Re: Anyone have a "single type" stash?
I have almost exclusively Grovia/Grobaby diapers. I will be going back to using some prefolds and covers at night, but since we are starting down the potty training road, I don't want to use prefolds during the day; Grovias are easier to get off fast.
If you find a type of diaper you really like, then there's not really a reason to keep a mixed stash. The Grovias work great for babysitters too since I can just snap some inserts to the covers and tell them to change them as if they are disposables (though skipping the throwing away step ).

I've never had a mixed stash. Started with gdiapers, then prefolds and covers, and now pad folded flats. Mixed stashed drive me nuts.

I had a mixed stash with my son - mostly BG pockets and Elementals and fitteds and wool soakers for naps and bedtime. We couldn't do pockets or AIOs for sleeping so that is why we had so many.
For my daughter, we have only really used fitteds and some prefolds. So her stash is very easy - fitteds and wool and all one brand too
