Re: VETERANS DAY! KAL 11/11-11/17 Knit to a goal!

I would but my guy that is so awesome is now gone...don't know where he went. Now the mail lady doesn't even come to my door. She just crams it all in the box 3 blocks away So nothing from me this year. Unless she starts showing up at the door.

My old lady was awful, now I have a very enthusiastic guy. He came to the door today (and rang the bell because I left a note up for UPS to ring the bell) because DH's and my CPhT certs came and they can't be bent, so he didn't want them out on the porch or folded in the box. He said he'd circle back around for the outgoing mail and to not think he'd skipped it or forgotten it, that he'd be right back for it. He's just always doing little things like that, comments about fiber I have hanging on the porch, etc. Nice dude who seems happy in his work. Very conscious that I stalk the mail sometimes and will often peek in to see if I'm in the living room waiting (our front door has a big glass door you can see into our whole living space) and will knock and point if I have a package and he sees me. If he didn't do those extra steps, I'd have had co-op fiber ruined in the past, so I'm super grateful.

We never get doorway deliveries. If it needs a signature or it is too big then we go to the post office to pick it up. All deliveries are shipped from the post office. Regular mail is delivered to the box down the street. I don't plan on giving him any tip.

I would just do fudge or cookies and call it good. Government employees which they are cannot knowingly accept more than like $20 in goods or money without declaring it. So like when people would offer to buy rb dinner he would have to decline. So smart people just paid the waitress and never asked rb so he couldn't decline. When it's baked goods there is no real value to declare.

That's why we use our office address. Our office is 7 miles away. Our "post office" was 20. If I use our office they leave boxes for me. If I use the po, I have to go, wait in line and pick up in person after the delivery person would HAND me the delivery notice. So obnoxious.

I do hate international deliveries, those automatically go to the pick up station, which is across town. They don't even give them to the carrier to get a signature or whatever. Not his fault, they only give him the slip. Annoying when I'm waiting to get snaps in or whatever, since those always come from China.
