i feel VERY SMALL pokes here and there when i am resting watching TV at night. otherwise, NOTHING, i am almost 20 weeks!!! its making me INSANE!

This is me. But I am almost 18 weeks. I think I feel baby move but then I am like well it could be---xyz not baby.

Thanks for the hugs! I think DH and I both need the u/s - it's a lot of anxiety thinking about it, but once it's done we'll feel kinda like we "know" what's going to happen. I mean, if Hiccup isn't healthy we'll know we're facing more heartache. If Hiccup is healthy and well, we may actually be able to start looking ahead and thinking about having a baby - as opposed to just being pregnant.

At this point, I would still be concerned if I didn't feel anything for a whole day because that's a change in movement, kwim? But that still could be her moving or changing position so that she "hides" and you just can't feel her - at 20 weeks they're still relatively small and have loads of room in there!
But you start "kick counts" (where you want to feel 10 movements in at least 2 hours (and, at least IME, it takes much less time than that)) at 24 weeks.

I'm sorry about the nipple pain. It sucks. And, no, there's really not much you can do to help. You could try lanolin and see - it wouldn't hurt, if it didn't help, kwim? But it's really just your body starting to change and prepare for producing milk and baby latching and nursing.
Definitely wear a supportive bra, and I would give the lanolin a try. But, if nothing else, it is totally normal for them to feel like that.

AFM: (pretty much c&p from the preg after loss thread, in case anyone sees both!)
I made it to my Dr this morning. I hadn't called, so it was just a "walk-in" appt slot. I started filling out the prenatal history form, we got a req sent (to the hospital we want) for the u/s, checked my bp (high for me, understandably), and heard Hiccup's hb on doppler. That was... difficult, lol.
I don't think it's for a bad reason, but of course my mind went instantly back to my 17wk prenatal with Elli, when we had trouble getting the hb, and that sucked.
But I'm sure the whole time I could feel squirming from Hiccup, and I could hear thumps and swooshes on the doppler, which should mean movements.
He did catch the hb for a couple seconds down low on my right, but then it just disappeared. I could feel Hiccup move up and over left - we ended up with my hands above baby holding him still, then the doppler against him on the other side - got a good bit of hb... then he squirmed and was gone again. Apparently he does not like the doppler.

I am going back tomorrow for a bit more of a "first prenatal" - we'll get all the paperwork on the go, get urine and weight and fundal height, :crossfinger: hear that hb again - maybe not easier... but quicker?!, and get lab reqs for my bloodwork. I won't be doing a physical or any vag exams with this pregnancy - if nothing else, I just did them a year ago (pretty much exactly a year, too).

DH came with me this morning - it wasn't actually as bad as I thought... but this was largely due to them having moved offices! Just from one side of a building (kinda duplex) to the other - climbing the stairs and going in the first door was hard... but then I went the "other way". Which, silly as it may sound, may it suddenly easier, different... like there could be a different outcome this time.
He won't be able to come with me tomorrow. But I think I'll be okay.
Whether he knows it or not, he is coming to the u/s with me. There's no way I'll get there on my own, never mind getting through it on my own! Now that the req is sent off, I just wait for the hospital to call me to make an appt for it.

Apparently, he said there can be up to a 2 month waiting list for u/s But I know I've gotten in right away (with DS2, at 6 weeks, I was in for u/s within 2-3 days of the req), and where we're req'ing it at a smaller town hospital, hopefully they'll not be as booked/busy?
Anyways, whatever. It will work out, however it is meant to.

lol - that's pretty much all I get and I sure that it's just because there's no other time in the day when I'm actually still and paying attention.

sometimes if I'm sitting at other times, I'll feel them then too, but I mean, movement rocks the baby to sleep, so it makes sense.

it sorta freaks me out that I don't feel anything throughout the night as I wake up and roll over, etc. I would expect that to be prime awake time for baby.

We are borrowing a xbox360 tonight to rent "pregnant in America" and "The Business of Being Born" and "Orgasmic Birth" I cant wait to watch them! well I most go and super clean my house to get ready for the thanksgiving visit from Mom! (she arrives Sunday eve)

Oh, I haven't seen Orgasmic Birth. What is the main idea behind it? Of the other two, I like The Bisiness of Being Born the best.

I have had a lot more "what was that" feelings over the past couple of days. Decided today that it IS baby so that's nice! 18.5 weeks. A whole week earlier than with Joey. I have also felt my uterus tightening. I am wondering if its braxton hicks already...

Elena, so glad your appt went ok. I know sometimes that first step can be so hard! Hopefully your DH's schedule will work out perfectly with the us so that wont be an issue. All that movement with trying to get the heartbeat sounds great! Joey always hated the doppler and moved away from it, too.

I'm not entirely sure lol! apparently the idea that birth can be a pleasurable experience (nothing to do with an actual orgasm lol )... and how much better they feel after it. like I said not really sure but I will let you know if its good or not! it can be rented for a couple bucks on amazon instant video... turns out the xbox isnt going to work but while hubby was home for lunch I happened to mention that the laptop has an hdmi port and he told me thats all we need then lol woulda been nice if he told me that a week ago when I was trying to figure out how to make it work! ggrr oh well hes lucky hes cute! I also want to watch "Homebirth Dads" but I have to buy that one in order to watch it and its like 25 bucks or so but if yall tell me its worth it ill get it!
Hubby had a sleep study done Monday night and they called yesterday... aparently he has severe sleep apnea they said he stops breathing 29 times AN HOUR! WHAT??? thats insane! (and scary) so now definate cpap for him but he unfortunately cant go back in for the testing with the cpap until after Thanksgiving. Well I guess its still better than not getting it at all, which is how it would have been if I didnt nag him/ force him to do the study! lol I will just be very thankful once he receives the machine!

This first part made me laugh. There is actually a birth method that involves trying to reach orgasm during birth. I was reading reviews on birthing books and one negative review was that the writer encouraged that instead of "giving practical advice". It was a long time ago (my last pregnancy) so I cant remember what book it was.

Sorry about your dh. Glad he is getting help!

I am so bored right now. Ds is watching umizoomi for his pre-bed tv time and I just cant find anything to hold my attention. It was a stressful day. I guess I should go to sleep with DS, but I wanted to sneak some ice cream after bed time...

So I am getting my hair done tomorrow. WOO-HOOO! I use to be a every 4-6 week girl. Now I am whenever I can squize it in not in the 1st trimester girl. Just getting it cut and colored. Just to get rid of my pre-mature greys that I started getting at 20. Yes you read correctly 20--I was a stressed out college athlete. I am much more relaxed now Well now I know how to curb the stress a little better.

Dh said he wants to take me shopping this weekend for my birthday that is Dec 12th SO I of course agreed. I want new sneakers and a couple of shirts. Nothing big. I need new sneakers bc apparently my feet go into super duper sweat phase when I am pregnant and well to be honest my feet stink! It is crazy that they sweat like that and I only notice it when preggers.
