Altering dress, what to do with leftovers?

So my stepmom's neighbor's daughter is going to prom with this beautiful dress, but she wanted the sleeve "poofs" taken off. I did that, and will be turning over the edge to re-seam it:

So now we have the two sleeve poofs:

I think one poof would make an excellent hand bag!:

I just have to figure out a handle.
But the other one? She does not have long enough hair to put it up with a scrunchie, my first though. Some type of wristlet is kind of out of style, went out with the sleeve poofs haha. A headband might be lovely, but still leaves extra to use.
Thoughts please?

On an interesting side note, this dress was handmade in the USA by the International Ladies Garment Worker's Union! I felt bad altering it haha.

You could bead and pintuck it and make a hair snood like a renaissance lady's. Or take strips, gather them into flowers, and make a brooch/necklace or an accent for the purse or shoes. Find a coordinating shawl and use it to trim the ends of the shawl to match.

Neat idea with the flower. I'm picturing a pretty button for the flower center, which could hold it all together and to the purse.

I think she said prom was the 28th. I better get my butt moving!

Maybe a headband with a big bow? I have no idea what is in fashion with the young ones these days (omg, I'm 26, haha!), but the dress looks very '80s to me, and something like this might "match."

Question Re: Altering dress, what to do with leftovers?

And I like the hankie idea!
Alright, so some type of flower/bow, headband, and hankie. Maybe two small flowers or bows? One for headband and one on purse?
There's a bow on dress, so worried if I deviate from dress with a flower I will screw it all up haha.

There might be enough material for a cumber band.
