EOs for face care

Does anyone make their own face creams? I'm thinking about making my own with castor and jojoba oils, and adding EOs- carrot seed, juniper, frankincense and Vitamin E. Does anyone have a recipe they like? If I add a small part of shea butter, will it thicken up into something creamier? Any idea what the ratios would be?

I just use coconut oil on my face. These oils alone will just make an oil. If you add some shea butter it will be a butter, not a cream. My sister and I make a hair and skin butter with shea butter, castor oil, vitamin E oil, and some other oils, including coconut oil. We have used jojoba a few times but quit buying it because of the expense. I think it ends up being about half shea butter but I'm not certain. She has the recipe and does all the math.

I make cream with a water and aloe base and use lecithin as a binding agent with beeswax, coconut oil, sweet almond oil, shea and mango butters. I don't make this specifically for my face but I have used it in a pinch. I have dry skin. I have a rose hydrosol waiting for my water base when I can get to making a cream specifically for my face, and I'll be adding aloe to that as well. I haven't done enough research into the best eo for a face cream because the rose and aloe seemed most important to me. I've only really used eo for scent.

Good luck! I'd love to hear what other people are making.

I like to keep things simple, so I use jojoba oil with some lavender and tea tree EOs. I tried olive oil and castor oil for a while, but they felt icky on my skin. Jojoba feels lightweight and smooth.

Jojoba is very similar to skin's natural oil, I found out! I use this recipe, too, though I have some extra oils around from making lip balms so I added macadamia nut, safflower, and sweet almond. It works soooo well compared to commercial creams, that broke me out. I don't think it's any better with the extra oils - I think jojoba would do it. But I did notice that my wholesaler has doubled their price on jojoba in the last year or so! I haven't tried coconut oil at all - does it smell like coconut?
