My Mood:
Potty Training. Is he ready? Give me some pointers please!

Ds is 16 months old and has always been sensitive to wetness in the diaper. We wear disposables at night because he leaks out everything else I tried even if I change him midway through the night. We wear fitteds/wool and flips/prefold during the day.

Over the last 2-3 weeks anytime he pees in either kind of diaper, he will grab the front and say "bum, bum" and then he'll grab my hand and take me to his room for a diaper change. When he poops he does the same thing but with a little more urgency. Every morning and sometimes in the middle of the night when I check him, his diaper is gone and the bed is wet b/c he peed in the diaper and took it off. Just this past week or so when he pees, he stops what he's doing and looks at his diaper and then immediately (even if it's just a dribble) wants a dry one. Two nights ago after dinner, he wanted his diaper off so I took it off in the kitchen and he immediately ran over to the couch and peed on the side of it then when I said "Don't pee on the couch!" he ran back over to me proud of himself and all but refused a diaper. Dh had to help me get one on him.

Is he ready for the potty training to begin?? If so, where do I even start? I'm totally lost on potty training...I have no idea how to potty train.
