Re: Meds?

He has never had behavioral therapy thanks to budget cuts and getting nowhere with insurance. He didn't even get diagnosed until this fall. Basically everyone just wanted us to wait it out. He will be starting behavioral therapy soon and will hopefully be getting 2 hours a day, 5 days a week.

I feel like I need to get him on meds because we can't even find a babysitter to watch him. It's not so much that he melts down with them, but that he doesn't really participate in activities. So you just have to follow him around while he does his own thing, and I guess a lot of people are uncomfortable with that and find it hard to manage. Versus a normal kid that will sit for a story or play catch or play a game with you, KWIM? I feel like if he calms down a bit it might help.

Re: Meds?

Check out Protandim from Life Vantage. Do a search for Protandim and autism. It is 5 herbs and reduces oxidative stress. There are many people that give it to their children with autism with great results. A friend of mine has a 3 year old with autism and she saw behavior changes almost immediately. He is also finally sleeping through the night within the first 2 months of taking it.
