Re: The official 2012 Christmas List/Shopping Thread

DH - no idea. We usually buy something for both of us to share but neither of us has mentioned any ideas yet. I don't have any this year.

DD1 (4 y.o.) - bought, wrapped, paid for
Innotab 2s (for the person who is trying to decide, I chose this one mostly for the 32gb sd card potential plus the wifi) with headphones and a cartridge
Disney princess (Tiana) doll with three magnetic outfits
A couple books plus a little people workbook (she loves doing them, reminds me of me!)
Kit to make a sticker-bead mosaic jewelry box (Santa gift)
Bunch of misc. Target dollar bin stuff-books, fruit rollups, slinky, etc for her stocking

DD2 (1 y.o.) - bought, wrapped, paid for
Mega blocks
A couple board books
Drawing board that uses water since I can't convince her to keep crayons and markers out of her mouth
five sided wooden activity cube (Santa)
Bath book, board book, stuffed Nemo and some Gerber fruit/veggie melts for her stocking

Niece - ordered
Pillow pets dream lites
Video

Mom -No idea

Step-dad - bought, wrapped, paid for
Two shirts for work

Dad - no idea

Step-mom - no idea

MIL - no idea

FIL - no idea

Seeing some of your lists makes me shudder to remember our old gifting lists. We used to buy for 20 to 25 people every year, it was not any fun. We drastically cut back and it's a good thing because we wouldn't be able to afford to buy for all of them now that we have two kids (I'm counting down until we don't have to pay for daycare!)

We buy my DH's cousins gift cards and they seem to love it. We give the older one a gift card to the movies and he takes his gf and we get the younger one a gift card to gamespot b/c he loves video games, but it's not in our budget to pay for all of a brand new one. I know some people feel like gift cards are too impersonal, but I've never given a teenager a gift card and had them complain that they had money to go shopping!

Thanks for the info on the Innotab! I think I will go with that instead of the leappad, plus its cheaper! :-)

Thanks! That's a great idea! I think I heard that he now has a girlfriend and I think he's around 15. I know they have discounted movie tickets at Costco so we will probably go with that or maybe a movie gift card.

Re: The official 2012 Christmas List/Shopping Thread

I'll play even though we don't really buy gifts for that many people.

Fiona (age 3.5)

Innotab 2 (better then the leap pad IMHO because of the expandable memory and ability to put our own movies and music on it, though I'm going to laugh the whole time I'm transferring our leap frog videos onto it).
innotab - team umizoomi game
innotab - Tinkerbell game

Guinea Pig (she's been begging for over a year, we already have a cage)
toys, food, bedding, house (I'm building) etc.

several pairs of jammies (she's completely outgrown her 4T cloths!!!)
socks
undies

pre-k workbooks (she loves these and goes through them like candy)
glitter crayons
oil pastels
other art supplies

possibly a few other random small things I find between now and then She's my only child and wont be getting anything really from anyone but us.

DH and I - an external hard drive

DH birthday (the 24th) - Avengers blu-ray

MIL - photo calendar, toddler made ornament

Hubbies grandma - toddler made ornament

Hubbies great aunt - toddler made ornament, maybe a coffee mug with candy and fuzzy socks

Hubbies aunt and uncle - toddler made ornament

My mom - no idea - probably just a basket of her favorite goodies

my grandma - a subscription to a puzzle magazine that she loves, but would never buy herself

Fiona's friend R - Disney princess paper dolls

Fiona's friend B - Giant coloring book, glitter crayons

Re: The official 2012 Christmas List/Shopping Thread

I love this thread and watching my post change colours. I did a lot of online shopping, which my DH loves because he doesn't have to cart me places and wander around. Just about done, just need santa gifts for each of my DDs, one more gift for DH, and some smaller things for my girls for stocking stuffers.

And then there's the hard one - DH's side pulls names, kids from one bucket, adults from another. The adults for a change were dead easy, but this year I pulled my BIL's girlfriends kids. He lives a fair distance away, the kids are young teen/tween age and I've met them all of twice. Last year I gave them GCs for the movies(we changed to pulling names for the kids AFTER I had already bought for everyone, and most the other gifts I'd bought were personalized) but I don't want to do that again unless I have to.
