Oh and since our third was a girl we took Alexander and made it Alexandra for a middle name.

My son's middle name will be Edward. I like "old-fashioned" but not "old" or common names.

I also liked Emerson, Leonard, James, and William.

We are very much the normal names that are easy to spell.

We have a Joseph, Jordan (more popular that I liked), Audrey.

Others on our boys list: Nathaniel, Samuel, David, William, Lucas

I have a Benjamin (Benny) Karl and a Joshua Daniel. My DH sounds like yours, nothing too different for a boy's name.

ETA I like nicknames though. Benny is fairly uncommon, and we call Joshua Joshy
