Help...moms with chunky babies

I have been having an issue lately because my son have very chunky thighs if I snap the hip snanps where they should be he gets really bad red marks on his thighs that sometimes get rubbed so raw that the marks don't go away for days. If I loosen the hip snaps just by one snap he leaks. I just have no idea what to do anymore. If it helps we use all different brands of diapers. Mostly JC trade cartoon diapers, BG 4.0, FB perfect size, and fitteds at night mostly GM goodnights, GM, and Little fancy pants reg and nighttimes.

We've had good luck with Capri covers by Swaddebees. Depending on your LO's size they have size 1 and 2, which both each have three sizes. No hip snaps, but the ones with snap closures are off-set, so there's room for big thighs. And they're double gussets to hold in leaks. They have flaps like Flip diapers to hold inserts in.

Blueberry covers by Swaddlebees are also good. A little cheaper.

And if you're looking for pockets there are some good option from Swaddlebees too. Or try anything with offset snap closures or Velcro closure and a double gusset.

I was soooo hoping it wasn't the hip snaps on the cartoons because I love them so much. But it is sounding like that may be the issue. Is there any type of barrier cream that would help with this?

coconut oil helps. Or just give him/her naked time. I love my BG 4.0s because they hold more in and are great for night time, but I just let my lil man have naked tummy time in the mornings for about 15-20 mins

You could cut a small piece of fleece or fabric to stuff in and cover the snap maybe?
