So she was getting them
In front of her child for Christmas?

The kid was 2-3 years old. I'm still buying my DS gifts in front of him. He's 2.5. I tell him it's for someone else. He totally forgets about it later.

I personally wouldn't buy for someone asking on CL. There are lots of other ways to get hooked up with people in need. CL is crawling with scammers.

I think you are lucky there We scored a train set last weekend at Goodwill and my 2 year old saw. She won't stop talking about this train set even though it is hidden until Christmas!

OP, no, I wouldn't. There is quite a bit of Christmas help out there and sadly there are just too many scammers

Re: Would you...

Yeah i prob would. If i can afford a few non expensive gifts, i could totally help make sometimes day. If they scammed me, i wouldn't know, and i would still feel happy that i Did a good deed. A few bucks out of my pocket isn't going to hurt me and it could really help someone else out. Of course, if they wanted huge things i might feel differently, but if they were appreciative of what i gave them, then no question. Helping others is my greatest joy, so in turn i would be doing something for my self as well...
