Re: Do the alvababy 3 layer bamboo inserts work well in Hybrids?
I would do prefolds in the GroVia shells. The mesh keeps them from slipping around and from the sticky side of PUL touching the baby (which irritated both of mine, though most don't care about it) and I think prefolds will hold up better and last longer.

Re: Do the alvababy 3 layer bamboo inserts work well in Hybrids?
Yep, I think they would work! I love my alva bamboo inserts! They clean really well. The only problem you *might* have is some bunching in the middle, especially if you only use one insert. Usually people need two inserts though and this really helps prevent the bunching.
More expensive, but another option is thirsties hemp prefolds! Soft, absorbent, and don't bunch up. Washing well and drying fast is important to me, so I've actually removed the stitching in some of them making them 2-layer flats. LOVE them like this! Much easier to customize for the perfect fit, no weird bumps, and they wash and dry really well too.

Thanks, that is a great idea! When you removed the stitching did you have to serge them to keep them from fraying? So you basically ended up with two prefolds then, correct? Now I just need to try to find some on sale

No serging was needed. I just took out the stitching where it was folded over. One prefold makes one rectangle 2 layer flat. I then fold it in thirds the long way, then fold to perfectly fit the rise of the diaper.
