I'm working on some fingerless mittens to go with the hat I finished yesterday.

No pattern, I'm writing it as I go along. They are double layer....so they aren't as easy as the ones I usually make.

I only had 30g of the original yarn so I thought to make them warmer I could use a different yarn on the inside of the mittens to save on the original colour. They aren't as soft on the inside now though because that's regular sock yarn....but I'm hoping they'll be reversible.

I'm knitting and watching silly tv.

We just got an email about the book report Shannon should have done...and received a grade 6 (because she didn't do it) twice. She had to do an after school detention because she hadn't done the work. We figured it was over and done with.....but nope. It seems the teacher at some point decided to "offer the kids another chance" but didn't tell us and once again Shannon has received a 6 for not doing the work.

We're at a loss...I just dont know what to do about this.

IDK Janine. I know that nearly all kids go through this at some point, but you and I know it is much harder for certain kids to really understand the implications. If you ever find out how to handle it, LMK.

Catching up on the thread.

I have got the tree up, the mantle decorated, wreaths up, and the first floor picked up. It just needs a good sweeping/vac. The kids really liked going to the tree farm and decorating the live tree. DH demoted our old fake tree to the basement, and bought the kids a big box of those shatterproof ornaments, so they got to do that while I cleaned up. I am thinking about making DH make dinner.

While I head to Michaels and see if there are any art/science kits left from the sale.

We went shopping before the pedis. Express had everything 1/2 off before noon. I got one present taken care of for our three we need to get.

We have our fake tree up but not decorated. It's on top of my craft cupboard.

Yep, it's that small........but we like it.

Our window is nearly done. I have a nostalgic advent candle OTW...one of those ones you burn everyday.

Something like this.....I'm not too sure of what it looks like totally because the picture was quite small but it's better than then 24 individual candles we've had in the past.
