How much fabric needed to make a diaper?

Ok, I've never even used a sewing machine but I'm getting one for Christmas and I'd like to try my hand at making diapers. I'm just looking to make them as a hobby, not for profit, though I might sell some if they turned out well. I'm just wondering how much fabric is needed per diaper. For instance, if I wanted to make an AIO with a Birdseye soaker, how much PUL and Birdseye would I need?

You might try asking this in the craft chat area. You'll probably get more insight over there. The other thing would be to look at some diaper patterns and see what/how much fabric it calls for.
