Yes it is safe, but get 1% and not 2%. A drugstore may have it, or try Amazon

More info for you... When I use it I put it on my nipples with a Qtip once a day for 5 to 7 days. It is fine for baby to nurse it off. It will actually treat their mouth as well, which is good.

I actually thought I was getting thrush again this morning but it turned out to be a plugged duct, thank goodness. Much easier to fix!

When you just put it in your nipples after feeding, does it still get all over your LOs mouth?

I am battling thrush and am attacking it hard (diflucan, homemade APNO, GSE washes, Acidophillus, etc)... I am considering using Genetian Violet too!

Yes, but maybe not AS bad if it wears off a little before your next feeding. The more you cake it on, the worse their mouth will be, KWIM?

I like to do mine before bed (after LO nurses to sleep). She still gets a little purple from night nursing but she is less likely to notice anything funny with my nipples.

The first time DD1 saw my purple nipples she cried! Then she started requesting purple nipples, lol.
