Re: First short- to long-sleeve onesie

Where did you attach the longer sleeve, at the shoulder or at the seam line of the shorter sleeve?

I attach it at the short sleeve seam line. It gives about a half inch of overlap. I can take a photo when I get home from work.

The fastest way to do it is cut a strip long enough for two sleeves, sew it into a tube, then hem each end to make the wrist cuffs. Cut the tube in half and attach the two uncuffed edges to the onesie.

Fold jersey-knit fabric to make a double-long sleeve (long enough for two arms). Make sure the fabric stretches width-wise, not length-wise. Cut.

Sew a long seam, then hem cuffs at each end. I turn right-side-out to make cuffs.

Cut the tube in half, then put a right-side-out sleeve into your right-side-out onesie. Line up the two inner-arm seams.

Sew along the raw edge of the fabric, following the hem of the short-sleeve cuff.

done! I was too lazy to wind a bobbin with brown thread, so I will take a fabric marker to the white so it's better hidden. Anyway the white is easier to see on here.
