Aug '11 - NOVEMBER CHAT

Now that Halloween is over, anyone thinking about Thanksgiving yet?

This is a BUSY month for us. Lots of out of town company, deer hunting season, and my 30th birthday. We're kicking it off with DHs promotion ceremony today! Sorry, I'm proud of him and he works so hard.

Kids are out of school and are already fighting. Yippee. Read that as excitement will ya?!

Alison, sorry Blu is yucky. Surely it's from the candy and sweets. My kids were loaded up from school parties so we minimized at home. A few Halloween cookies after school and one price of candy after ToTing. Hope his tummy feels better today. I'm considering offering a trade for the candy for $5 each. We'll see.

Oh so for thanksgiving we will be ordering from whole foods unless I find something locally. For us it's better bc it's only us and I don't want to spend the holiday cooking and cleaning. We will have to do it anyway but it is less work. Even though it is probably more expensive again not for us. I figure by the time I purchase everything then try to cook then ruin it and go to a restaurant and eat it comes out to be the same.

I excited about our town and thanksgiving it should be fun.

Part of the enjoyment in thanksgiving for me IS the cooking and the smells and the time spent together. But....if it were just us and I was cooking and cleaning if probably opt for a order in thanksgiving as well. Atleast then you can enjoy some sports instead of doing dishes.

My mil will be here as well as bil and his girlfriend. And their 1 pound dog. Have I mentioned that I dislike tiny dogs? And I'm fairly certain Dallas is going to flip all day while they're here over her. We will be making a pseudo thanksgiving dinner the Saturday before (mil sausage wants to cook her own) and then driving to my aunts for the day of. I better enjoy the last of my traffic free travel free holidays because next year....not so fun.

Thanksgiving is my favorite holiday. I love to cook, bake and eat. It's just perfect. My kids decided we were going to my parents again because they will make turkey. Ha! They don't realize my parents went vegan and ordered a tofurky!

I caved, bought a chicco keyfit for Henry yesterday.

I tried so hard to get the angle right on the diono but I just couldn't get it reclined enough. Luckily I had a 20% off at BRU.

I'm so much more comfortable with him in the keyfit. He looks so cozy in it and I'm loving being able to buckle and unbuckle him in the warm house.

So glad thanksgiving is coming!!! Halloween was fun but it just wears me out and the kids are like candy fiends now .

I love the baking and cooking part of thanksgiving, being with my aunts, mom, grandma, sisters (although this year it'll just be my sisters), I love it all!

My sisters and I are trying a new menu this year (my moms families traditional menu is a little on the rich and heavy side, the kind that makes you feel like you ate a brick). We are all excited about the change.

Random, but I'm super annoyed. I'm doing diaper laundry tonight and I'm missing a diaper cover, I've got eight and only seven accounted for.

Tried out a Woombie today with Henry, he loves it! I need to get another one on amazon... I hate how pricey they are but they're pretty ingenious.

Sorry for the novel.

I am excited that I don't have to coordinate everything this yr for thanksgiving since we'll be in Michigan ! It'll be the first time we are all together since gpas funeral I'm sure. We also do a cookie day on Saturday. My girls will love that.

Soccer games in the morning then back home for shot get busy working. I've got plenty to do around here as well. I put all the candy away so kids can't get into it. I'll make them "earn" it by helping me clean house. Lol.

Don't forget daylight savings sat night !

Ok not a Halloween pic but still cute
