Footie jammies! (added lobsters :))

My 3yo loves her footies, but they are getting harder to find in the bigger size ... So whats a mama to do? Make some! Loving these!!

Grippy feet!

And some naughty or nice (sorry crappy night phone pic)

Also working on a pair of D&G this is how i roll and some lobsters all cut out. Kiddo is THRILLED. She won't take them off!!

And added! Lobsters!

I've just been using up what i have left over from making diapers and underwear, so i really don't have enough of most of the fabric. Ran out for the arms so had to use some cotton velour. And should have used a red zipper, but i had a white here, so what the heck. Lol

Awesome! Can't wait to see the others done up.

What pattern is that or did you do your own?

Re: Footie jammies!

I used a pattern by peek-a-boo patterns (sorry don't have the link off hand ). Its a great pattern finished up, but for beginner sewers it may be kind of frustrating as there is very little instruction included with it (the pattern itself lacks info on where fold is, direction of stretch, cutting instructions, zipper installation, ect). Once its cut out, it is a very quick, fairly easy sew (took me maybe an hour). I made quite a few alterations on the second pair, but really a good base pattern

Love those!

Btw, Carter's makes fleece footie sleepers for big kids. My 7yo loves his footies still.

Thanks! We do have a couple carters ones, but i have issues with fleece I did find some nice cotton ones at costco earlier in the fall, but didn't get them and they are gone now so was pretty excited to find this pattern.

I wish I could sew! Both of my boys have very wide feet and it is pretty much impossible to get them in footed sleepers unless I go up a ton of sizes. It is hard to find them for older kids.

Those are so cute!

My toddler hates footie pajamas and takes them off immediately. We battled all last winter over the footies, and I finally gave up. He wears fleece longies and a t-shirt to bed OR one of his thermal sets most nights. I might try making him footie bottoms to see if he'll wear them, he often climbs into our bed at 1 or 2 am and his feet are COLD

Re: Footie jammies!

Awesome job mama!! My 11.5 yr old and 9 yr old have been begging me to make them some more. They still fit the Carter's size 7 (their largest size) up until last year, but no more Maybe I'll go look for a pattern today
